Formation of the Victorian Women's Superleague Association Inc.

The VWSA was formed in 1997 with the help of our state body representatives at that time - Theresa Whitten (VEBA Womens Development Officer), Miranda Jamieson (VEBA Office Administrator) and Graham Dewar (VEBA President). The aim of Superleague is to give the women players in Victoria the opportunity to compete against each other playing National Teams Format. We have an average of 10 teams with 7-11 players p/team competing at various venues around Victoria. The VWSA has been instrumental in lifting the standards of womens eight-ball players and this is evident from the number of Superleague players that make the state team and also the level of improvement and enthusiasm across all members. Money raised throughout the year goes back to the players in prize money, best team and player awards and support towards National and International representation.
A special thank-you is given to all those who have supported the VWSA over the last 12 years to ensure the ongoing success and smooth operation of the Association - Executive and committee members, sponsors and advertisers, venues, players and spectators/supporters.
